Yes, we offer tours of our facility every day of the week, no appointment needed. However, we do recommend coming between the hours of 10am-4pm, as the early morning and evening hours can be quite busy with arrivals and departures.
No, at this time Mercy's does not offer pick-up or drop-off services.
We require that all dogs attending daycare or boarding overnight are current on their Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, and Parvovirus vaccinations, are on flea/worm treatment, and have passed their initial Meet & Greet assessment.
Additionally, we require all daycare attendees over ten (10) months old must be spayed or neutered. If they are not spayed/neutered they are eligible for boarding only. Please note that females in heat may not board with us.
The initial interview for an evaluation typically lasts around 30 minutes. We then ask that you leave your dog with us for at least a half-day of daycare so that we can interact with your pet and introduce them to a range of different activities. Our goal is to find the best fit for your dog while they are with us.
We require that all daycare attendees be at least 4 months old and complete with their initial vaccination series. This allows our guests to develop a stable immune system before they are in a facility with other dogs.
Mercy's does not require reservations for daycare but reservations are required for overnight boarding.
We recommend that major holiday reservations be made at least a month in advance. For non-holiday reservations we recommend reservations being made a few weeks in advance, when possible.
Give us a call at (850) 217-1455 or email us at frontdesk@mercysplayandstay.com. Be aware that for major holidays, it is best to book several months in advance to ensure space is available. New clients will need to provide copies of the dog's vaccinations and conduct a Meet & Greet before the reservation will be confirmed. For major holidays, a 50% advance deposit will be required. The deposit is fully-refundable if changed 14+ days before the scheduled drop-off, 50% refundable if 7+ days before, and non-refundable less than 7 days before the scheduled stay.
Yes, we allow multiple dogs in the same kennel, dependent on size. We have a 2-dog limit for our Standard and Deluxe suites and a 3-dog limit for our Presidential or XPlay options. We do NOT allow dogs from different households to share a kennel. While family members are allowed to share a suite, we do separate them for feeding by default unless you request they feed together.
Please bring any medications of food, properly labeled with the dog's name and feeding instructions, they may need for the stay. All medications should be in the original bottles from the pharmacy. At the time of check-in, advise our team of any special medical or behavioral concerns you may have.
Yes. Mercy’s provides beds, water, and food bowls for our sleepover guests. However, if you want them to have something soft and snuggly from home, you can bring in a bed or favorite blanket. Toys are permitted, but only for overnight guests, and we ask that you limit them to two or three of their favorite toys. Your dog’s toys will stay with them in their suites and we do our best to return all toys, but we are not responsible if a toy is lost or destroyed.
We will allow this if it was previously communicated or coordinated by the pet owner. Please note that the individual picking up the dog must have a valid I.D.
Mercy’s will administer medications to your doggy while they are in our care for no additional charge. All medications must be in the original prescription container so that we will have detailed information about the medication, and you must sign a consent form giving us permission to administer the medication. We do not administer injections.
Please note that Mercy's employees and staff ARE NOT veterinarians and are unable to identify, treat, cure, or prevent diseases.
In the event that your dog requires medical attention, we will refer to your contact list and make every attempt to reach you or your designated emergency contact. If we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact and we feel your dog needs medical attention, we will transport your dog to their regular veterinarian, if close by, to ensure continuity of care. If your veterinarian is not near our facility, we will go to one of the local veterinarians that we know. If we believe that the situation is urgent or if your dog needs care after regular hours, we will take them to the closest veterinary emergency clinic.
There may be a fee associated with transporting your dog to the veterinary clinic. Owners are responsible for any additional service fees and veterinary fees incurred.
Absolutely! We offer lunch service for our doggies. Just bring your doggy’s food in a Ziplock bag or other container clearly labeled with their name and let one of our team members know that you would like your doggy to be served lunch while they are here. If your doggy is in daycare, we will remove them from the playroom at lunchtime and have them enjoy lunch in one of our private suites to eat and then rest for a while before going back into the playroom for their digestive health.
It is not uncommon for dogs to lose a little weight while boarding. Most of the weight loss is due to excitement of being with other guests and the exercise they receive playing with their friends. Dog in our playrooms are getting constant activity that is likely not the same as their normal daily routine, therefore, they burn a lot more calories during their boarding visit. In some cases, dogs may eat less while boarding due to a number of reasons such as being in a new environment.
Mercy's does not have staff on-site 24 hours a day but we do have on-site video monitoring at all times.
